Raptors unveil Camouflage Jersey to Honour Military

From the Canadian Press:

TORONTO -- The Toronto Raptors are donning camouflage jerseys to honour Canada's military heritage.

The Raptors announced on Wednesday that they would debut alternate jerseys with a green camo background on March 21 when Toronto hosts the Chicago Bulls.

"We're excited to be the first NBA team to have a jersey that honours the work of military personnel," said Tom Anselmi, executive vice-president and chief operating officer of Maple Leaf Sports & Entertainment, the Raptors' parent company, in a statement. "This jersey is just a small gesture that shows our organization's commitment and appreciation for the men and women who serve our country."

The jersey will make its first on-court appearance as part of the team's annual Canadian Forces night.

That won't be the only appearance of the alternate jersey.

Toronto will also wear the camouflage on March 26 versus the Orlando Magic, April 1 against the Washington Wizards and April 16's game with the Atlanta Hawks. All three games will be played at Air Canada Centre.

Also, the jersey will be an option for the Raptors in the popular "NBA 2K12" video game.
