The Broken Spoke Saloon is the first to announce a complete lineup of music, burnouts and other contests scheduled for the 70th Daytona Bike Week. This year, the music begins on Friday, March 4th and continues through Saturday, March 12th at the Broken Spoke, located north of Daytona Beach at 1151 North US Highway 1.
As always, there will be a Loud Pipes Contest from 4-5pm every day, with Male Pole Dancing, Double Bubble & Silhouette Contests at midnight every night. Tattoo contests are set for 2-3pm on the last Thursday, Friday and Saturday. Baker Drive Train will host a Smoke-down Showdown on Friday night, March 11th and the S&S Smokeout is Saturday night, March 12th.
The crowd got more than they expected during Daytona Bike Week 2010 during the annual Limpnickie Lot night when members of the lot took the stage for a multi-bike, head to head, burnout and all of a sudden one bike, a Panhead, burst into flames right before the crowd’s huge eyes. 30 foot flames added instant heat to the event but fortunately, no one was hurt during the ordeal, due to the quick actions of the BSS staff and volunteer firefighters that were on hand. Now we know why Jay Allen has so many fire extinguishers on hand.
